Jessie began the Furnace at MSU in 2006, with a simple vision to stand with Jesus, the Great intercessor (Hebrews 7:25), and join Him in the place of prayer. The vision has begun to infect many other staff, students and campus ministry workers, but remains the same -- to fuel a campus awakening through persistent, unified prayer.
Jessie was very involved in campus ministry as student at Eastern Michigan University, where he received his BA in Music (minor in Sociology). His investment in ministry, and particularly the work of prayer and evangelism at EMU marked his life. He has served in full-time ministry in several areas in the last ten years: as a worship leader, youth pastor, young adult leader, associate/administrative pastor and visiting speaker.
Since the Fall of 2010, his attention has been given to full-time missions to the Michigan State University campus, primarily in building the prayer movement. He longs to see the people of God connected in prayer so that the laborers will be sent in the power of God and the great harvest be reaped at MSU. He is believing for a great awakening to happen that will shake the campus and touch the entire state of Michigan.
Jessie enjoys working along side other campus ministries to build the wall of prayer that touches the whole campus and empowers every ministry to glorify Jesus. He is available to speak to campus/church groups, and enjoys encouraging and equipping others.
